Job description

The role of the school shadow teacher is to provide additional support, throughout the day, academically and psychologically. The school shadow teacher supports the student in many ways, including filling in the gaps that exist in the learning process, helping the student build self confidence, promoting interaction in the classroom and during breaks to focus on social-emotional well-being, and ensuring the student stays focused.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement a variety of learning and behavioral techniques in the academic setting, this may mean modifying the environment to support the child and will be under the guidance of your line manager
• Assist with the implementation of the IEP created for the student
• Implement any other programs required to support social-emotional development, motor skills, language development and independence
• Facilitate appropriate social interaction, communication with peers and teachers
• Report directly to your head of department any concerns, progress and feedback provided by the school
• Attend meetings as required regarding your client’s progress
• Work 1:1 with client to provide additional academic, social-emotional support and other skill set development

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelors in Education, Psychology or other related field desired
• Ministry of education Equivalency certificate is a must
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Learning Support Assistant
• Previous ADEK Pass Approval is an advantage
• Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis

• You should be passionate about working with children and teaching
• You should be energetic and enthausiatic
• Good written and spoken English Skills (Arabic is an advantage)
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to company processes and follow line-manager’s direction
