QS4QS is inviting applications for the position of Health and Safety – Visiting Lecturer to join our academic team, focusing on educating students about essential health and safety practices in the workplace. This part-time role requires an individual with a strong background in health and safety management, who is passionate about imparting knowledge and fostering a culture of safety among the next generation of professionals. The successful candidate will contribute to course delivery and enhance students’ understanding of safety regulations and practices.
Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on health and safety topics, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare instructional materials, including syllabi, curriculum guides, and assessments to ensure comprehensive coverage of health and safety issues.
• Assess student understanding through exams, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback on their performance.
• Mentor and support students in their academic journey, encouraging critical thinking and a proactive approach to health and safety.
• Collaborate with academic staff to continuously enhance course content and align it with current industry practices.
• Stay well-informed about the latest developments in health and safety legislation and practices, integrating these into course discussions and materials.
• Encourage student participation and discussion to foster a dynamic learning environment.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the improvement of health and safety education within the curriculum.
• Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Significant professional experience in health and safety management, with relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) preferred.
• Previous experience in teaching or lecturing in higher education is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessment processes, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using technology and tools relevant to health and safety education.
• Dedicated to promoting a culture of safety and academic excellence among students.
• Flexibility to teach on a part-time basis and available for student consultation outside of class hours.
