The New Energy Business unit is a high-impact initiative aimed at leading India’s transition to cleaner fuels and sustainable energy infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced, visionary, and execution-driven leader to head project management across this transformative domain.


Role Overview

As the Head of Project Management – New Energy Business, you will lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, execution, and control of multi-site renewable and energy infrastructure projects. You will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, internal governance, and industry best practices while driving efficiency, innovation, and project excellence.

This strategic leadership role requires deep experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, exceptional stakeholder management, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams towards successful and sustainable project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

🧭 Strategic & Functional Planning

  • Define project scope, timelines, and execution frameworks aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Develop long-term roadmaps and capacity planning strategies to support future energy infrastructure.
  • Provide inputs for budgeting cycles, capacity enhancement opportunities, and alignment with RIL’s new energy roadmap.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to assess business demands and translate them into actionable projects.

🛠️ Project Planning & Execution

  • Oversee complete project lifecycle—from feasibility, design (BEP/FEED), and regulatory approvals (CLU, CTE, EC, PESO) to commissioning.
  • Allocate resources, evaluate cost-benefit and ROI analysis, and ensure timely and quality execution.
  • Guide execution in partnership with FEED, PMC/EPCM/OBE/LSTK contractors and licensors.
  • Deploy robust project management tools and methodologies for tracking, documentation, and reporting.

📊 Project Control, Reporting & Compliance

  • Review project dashboards, KPIs, and variance analysis to provide decision-ready insights to top management.
  • Drive stringent adherence to statutory, HSE, and quality standards including ReSOP, DOSHE, CASHe, and HSSE protocols.
  • Conduct vendor audits, ensure harmonization of safety, quality, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure end-to-end compliance for audits: internal, operational, cost control, QA, performance, and IT systems.

🔄 Policies, Processes & Risk Management

  • Design and implement comprehensive project governance structures: policies, procedures, and process guidelines.
  • Institutionalize value engineering and continuous improvement practices to reduce costs and optimize productivity.
  • Establish frameworks for change management, stakeholder engagement, and issue resolution.

👥 People Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of project professionals.
  • Define KRAs, conduct performance appraisals, and create career development roadmaps.
  • Foster a collaborative, competitive, and innovative team culture aligned with RIL values.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil or related).
  • Preferred: Master’s in Construction/Project Management, NICMAR certification, or PMP credential.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 25 years of progressive experience in project management for large-scale infrastructure projects in sectors like renewable energy, power, utilities, or energy.
  • Proven track record of delivering mega projects through structured governance, resource optimization, and team leadership.
