Position Summary

We are seeking a talented Associate Designer to join our dynamic team at Wavetec. This role is ideal for a creative problem solver who thrives on user-centric thinking, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and pushing design boundaries. You will lead impactful projects across medical devices, wearable tech, and high-performance apparel—where innovation meets functionality and form.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute full-cycle design projects from ideation to production, ensuring excellence in function, form, and user experience.
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes, technical drawings, and detailed documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Solve complex design challenges using user-centered thinking and iterative testing.
  • Experiment with emerging materials, fabrication techniques, and hybrid design formats (e.g., soft goods + electronics).
  • Collaborate across departments including engineering, manufacturing, and business to deliver viable products.
  • Present compelling visual narratives and design solutions to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest design software, fabrication methods, and industry trends.
  • Embrace a flexible work approach, iterative processes, and calculated creative risks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Fashion Design & Textile.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in design—preferably in apparel, MedTech, or product development.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing problem-solving, innovation, and versatility across design disciplines.
  • Proficiency in key design tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SolidWorks, CLO3D, KeyShot.
  • Experience in material innovation, soft-hard integration, and sustainable design practices is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail from sketch to prototype to production.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills for team and client collaboration.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, tight deadlines, and evolving project scopes.
