Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Finance Analyst for an internal promotion opportunity. This role is integral to the Business Finance function, which is responsible for delivering accurate and timely revenue reporting, financial control, and regulatory compliance for our investment banking operations.
The successful candidate will engage in daily profit and loss (P&L) reporting, trade attribution analysis, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. You will liaise with front-office traders, risk management, and finance leadership while contributing to the firm’s financial integrity and performance.
What You’ll Do – Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely T+1 P&L reporting, attribution, and analysis.
- Provide daily commentary and detailed variance explanations to senior finance stakeholders and traders.
- Resolve trade breaks between models, ledgers, and source systems (Cash, FO/MO, trade documentation).
- Address model risk control exceptions and ensure robust compliance with internal risk frameworks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including Front Office, Finance Directors, Risk Management, and FinCon to manage inquiries and resolve issues.
- Validate trade bookings to ensure compliance with defined trade flow and funding cost allocation via Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP).
What You’ll Bring – Skills & Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in financial control, product control, or business finance within an investment banking environment.
- Sound knowledge of investment banking products: Bonds, Loans, CDS, IRS, TRS, Options, Futures, Cash Equity, and Derivatives.
- Familiarity with IFRS and GAAP accounting standards.
- Experience with front-to-back trade flow and operational systems.
- Strong Excel and Word skills; exposure to front-office systems is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage time efficiently, work independently, and resolve escalations effectively.
Education & Certification
- Qualified MBA / CA / CPA / CFA / ACCA / CIMA preferred.
